ThinkInnovate are looking for a Bid and Proposals Writer to join their team. The scope of this role is to write and manage the development of bids and proposals andlead on grant funding applications and the development of funding opportunities for clients.
Main tasks include;
Primary task is to write full bid applications for multiple projects to gain grant funding from government funding agencies, primarily the Technology Strategy Board but also EU, Horizon 20:20, ERDF, NESTA and Research Councils etc, helping clients get funding for innovative products or technologies across a broad spectrum of sectors and industries but with particular focus on the creative/digital technologies industries.
To write proposals for commercial projects relating to project management, Market Need investigations and Technology Development for Innovation projects.
Prepare proposals for Angel and VC investors
Research on specific industry sectors, upcoming technology innovation, market developments and other pertinent information using this to ensure that requirements for proposals and bids are met.
Liaising with clients and gaining familiarity with the clients’ technology and products to ensure they are well conveyed in the bid/proposal, capturing the client’s requirements and project specification.
Undertake all preparation of the tender documents including proactive research, sourcing pertinent information.
Source and monitor all upcoming funding competitions/deadlines, become familiar with the workings of relevant funding and financing organisations.

Writing experience either in a commercial, PR, Journalistic, copy writing or publishing environment (academic writing skills will be considered)
Ability to convey information about highly complicated technologies in a clear and commercial way
Experience of bid coordination/technical writing with a successful track record
Ability to understand all aspects of planning R&D projects from costing, work plan, proposal writing, project lifecycle and reporting
Experience in new product development & product planning and management within an R&D or product development environment.
Demonstrable technical project management experience or capability, preparing Gantt charts, risk management etc
Financial awareness and experience of project costing
Technical knowledge/background – i.e. someone who understands and is passionate about the new technologies/innovation involved in the bids that they are working on
Self motivated and driven individual prepared to go the extra mile to get the job done
Someone flexible enough to carry out any other duties that arise with this role, and adaptable enough to pick up new software/systems and processes if necessary
Experience of very fast moving environment
Familiar with online cloud based office management systems eg. Basecamp, Team Gantt, Harvest, Google drive, Drop Box etc.
Computer literate and particularly proficient with Microsoft Office suite
